Cancellation Policy

Please note — We do not issue cash or bank refunds. If your cancellation is eligible, the amount is converted into Alpha Adventures Travel Points and reflected in your account login, as per the rules below.

This policy applies to the total cost of your trek or trip, not the advance amount you paid.

What are Alpha Adventures Travel Points?

  1. Travel Points are credits equal to your eligible refund amount, added under your name in our system.
  2. Use them as a direct discount on your next trek or trip booking.
  3. They are valid for 2 months from the date of cancellation and can be used on any future trek or trip with us.
Category 01

Sahyadri & Central India Treks & Trips

Applies to Sahyadri treks and Central India treks.

Booking Type Cancel At Least What You Receive
Booked with transport through us
(train, flight or bus)		 3 days before the trip date 90% of the trek/trip amount, plus the transport amount refunded by the provider, both credited as Travel Points
Booked without transport, joining directly at the location 3 days before the trip date 90% of the trek/trip amount, credited as Travel Points
Any booking Under 3 days before the trip date No refund or Travel Points

Travel Points are valid for 2 months from the date of cancellation and can be used on any future trek or trip with us.

Category 02

Himalayan Treks & Backpacking Trips

Applies to Himalayan treks and backpacking trips.

Booking Type Cancel At Least What You Receive
Booked with transport through us
(train, flight or bus)		 7 days before the trip date 90% of the trek/trip amount, plus the transport amount refunded by the provider, both credited as Travel Points
Booked without transport, joining directly at the location 7 days before the trip date 90% of the trek/trip amount, credited as Travel Points
Any booking Under 7 days No refund or Travel Points

Travel Points are valid for 2 months from the date of cancellation and can be used on any future trek or trip with us.

The ticket is non-refundable but may be transferred to another participant for the current event. Only one transfer is permitted.

The cancellation fee may vary based on the destination and travel date (such as during any event, peak season, etc.). Kindly confirm the exact cancellation timeline with your Travel Expert.

No Travel Points or refund in these cases

  • No show on the day of departure
  • Cancelling after the applicable window for your trek or trip
  • Being asked to leave a trek or trip
  • Dropping out during the journey

If Alpha Adventures cancels your trek or trip

If we have to cancel a scheduled trek or trip due to circumstances beyond our control, you will first be offered a transfer to another date or to a trek/trip of equal value. If that does not work for you, we will process a 100% refund of the trek/trip fee paid to us. This refund does not cover transport costs such as train, bus or flight bookings, and any cancellation charges from the transport provider are borne by you.

This can include:

  • Extreme weather, natural disasters or environmental hazards
  • Government restrictions or closure of destinations, roads, trails or protected areas
  • Road blockages, transport strikes or accessibility issues
  • Safety, security or health related concerns in the region
  • Shortage of essential resources such as permits, accommodation or local transport

The decision to cancel, postpone, reroute, or modify an itinerary for safety and operational reasons rests solely with Alpha Adventures and will always be taken in the best interests of all participants and staff members.
